Stellar Blade, initially a PlayStation exclusive, is officially coming to PC in 2025! This announcement follows earlier speculation and confirms SHIFT UP's plans for platform expansion. Learn more about the PC release date and potential PSN requirements below.
PC Release Confirmed for 2025
SHIFT UP, the developer, confirmed the PC release during a recent financial earnings report, citing the growing PC gaming market and the success of titles like Black Myth: Wukong as key factors. While a specific release date remains unannounced, the company plans to maintain the game's popularity through ongoing marketing, including the upcoming November 20th release of collaborative DLC with NieR: Automata and a highly requested Photo Mode.
Potential PSN Requirement Raises Concerns
As a Sony-published title and with SHIFT UP's second-party developer status, a PSN account link for Steam may be required. This would unfortunately exclude players in regions lacking PSN access. Sony's stated reason for this practice—ensuring "safe" live-service gameplay—is questioned by many, particularly concerning its application to single-player titles.
The necessity of a PSN account for the PC version remains unclear. SHIFT UP's ownership of the IP suggests it might not be mandatory, but such a requirement could significantly impact PC sales, potentially hindering SHIFT UP's goal of exceeding console sales.
