Starfield, Bethesda's space RPG, gets a galactic upgrade thanks to a new Creation mod introducing Star Wars lightsabers. The recently released Starfield Creation Kit empowers players to share creative content, leading to a surge of Star Wars-themed mods.
While existing mods offer everything from Mandalorian armor to AT-ST enemies, the free Immersive Sabers mod from SomberKing takes it further. This mod adds three distinct lightsabers – the Combatech Polaris, Old Earth Photonsaber, and the Arboron Novabeam Saber – each complete with authentic sound effects, customizable beam colors, and workbench upgrades. A new perk even enhances lightsaber deflection.
The Immersive Sabers mod isn't just about player use; these lightsabers can also be looted from enemies, cleverly integrating them into Starfield's lore by attributing their creation to in-game manufacturers. SomberKing plans to add three more lightsabers from different manufacturers in future updates.
This influx of player-created content, including recent additions like city maps and ship customization, has significantly boosted player enthusiasm for Starfield. However, Bethesda's introduction of paid mods remains a point of contention, particularly concerning the paywalled conclusion of the Trackers Alliance questline. Despite this, upcoming content like the Shattered Space expansion and a deeper exploration of the Va'ruun faction promises a thrilling year for Starfield players.
