Star Wars: Hunters, Zynga's initial venture into the iconic franchise, is set to close its doors just over a year after its debut on iOS and Android devices. Launched in June 2024, the game quickly caught the attention of fans with its unique blend of game show flair and innovative takes on traditional Star Wars characters.
However, it has now been announced that Star Wars: Hunters will cease operations on October 1st of this year. A final content update is scheduled for release on April 15th. In response to the closure, players can now request refunds for in-game currency, and the third season will be extended, allowing for the rerun of certain seasonal events.
Fans eager to experience the last addition to the roster, Tuya, will be pleased to know they can still play with this character in multiplayer mode. Tuya will be introduced in the final update and will be available to all players at no cost from the start.
The decision to shutter Star Wars: Hunters came as a surprise to many, as there were few signs of the game underperforming. Given Zynga's robust standing in the industry, it suggests that there may have been deeper reasons behind this move.
