Squid Game: Unleashed is getting a major content drop to celebrate the Season 2 premiere! New characters, a new map, and exciting challenges are on the way, plus exclusive rewards for watching the new episodes.
Netflix's surprising holiday release of Squid Game: Unleashed – a free-to-play battle royale game – to both subscribers and non-subscribers is paying off. This new content update, designed to entice non-users, offers enticing rewards for watching the show!
What's in store for existing players? Starting January 3rd, a new map inspired by the Season 2 mini-game "Mingle" will launch. Playable avatars Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and rapper Thanos will also debut throughout January.
Geum-Ja and Thanos will each have special in-game events on January 3rd and 9th respectively, allowing players to unlock them. And here's the incentive for watching the show: Viewers earn in-game Cash and Wild Tokens. Watching up to seven episodes unlocks the exclusive Binni Binge-Watcher outfit!
Here's the January content calendar for Squid Game: Unleashed:
- January 3rd: The Mingle map arrives, along with Geum-Ja. The "Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event" begins, challenging players to complete Mingle-inspired mini-games and collect Dalgona tins (runs until January 9th).
- January 9th: Thanos joins the game, with his "Thanos’ Red Light Challenge" event. Players earn this character by eliminating opponents using knives (runs until January 14th).
- January 16th: Yong-Sik is the final character addition in this update.
Squid Game: Unleashed could be a game-changer for Netflix's gaming ambitions. Offering free access was a bold move, but rewarding subscribers and encouraging viewing is a clever strategy to bolster both the game and the show's success.
