Sony Unveils Sleek Midnight Black PlayStation 5 Accessories
Sony has unveiled its stylish Midnight Black Collection for the PlayStation 5, featuring four premium accessories: the DualSense Edge controller, PlayStation Portal handheld, Pulse Elite wireless headset, and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds. These additions follow the success of previous color variations for the DualSense controller.
The collection boasts a sophisticated dark aesthetic, adding a touch of elegance to the gamer's setup. Pricing is as follows:
- DualSense Edge wireless controller: $199.99
- PlayStation Portal: $199.99
- Pulse Explore wireless earbuds: $199.99
- Pulse Elite wireless headset: $149.99
While the price point is higher than some previous offerings (note the Pulse Elite's increased cost compared to its predecessor), the premium build and included carrying cases (a felt gray case, not black) justify the investment for many. The earbuds, in particular, offer a premium in-ear experience.
Pre-orders begin January 16th, 2025, at 10 AM ET, exclusively through direct.playstation.com. The full launch is scheduled for February 20th, 2025.
Beyond the Midnight Black Collection, Sony continues to expand its themed DualSense controller lineup. Following the popular God of War and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 controllers, a limited-edition Helldivers 2 DualSense controller is now available for pre-order.
