A Record-Breaking Unboxing Livestream

The Pokémon Company International achieved a new Guinness World Record for the longest unboxing livestream on November 26th, 2024. This marathon event celebrated the launch of the Scarlet & Violet - Surging Sparks expansion for the Pokémon Trading Card Game.

The livestream, hosted on Pokémon's official Twitch channel, featured prominent figures including Serebii's Joe Merrick, PokeGirl Ranch, and Mayplaystv. Over 24 hours, this trio opened over 1,500 booster packs and other Pokémon products, resulting in a remarkable collection of over 20,000 cards (as reported by the official Pokémon press release).

The celebration doesn't end there! The Pokémon press release promises additional giveaways on participating content creators' channels within the next two weeks. The cards amassed during the livestream will be organized and donated to charities, including Barnardo’s in the UK, before the holidays.

Pokemon TCG Sets 20,000 Cards Opened in 24 Hours as New Guinness World RecordReleased November 8th, 2024, the Scarlet & Violet - Surging Sparks expansion transports players to the Terarium, a key location in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's The Indigo Disk DLC. This expansion introduces powerful Stellar Tera Pokémon ex, including Archaludon ex with its formidable Metal Defender ability.

Fans can also find iconic Dragon-type Pokémon like Palkia, Dialga, Eternatus, Alolan Exeggutor ex, and Tatsugiri ex. The expansion also features Illustration Rare and Special Illustration Rare cards, such as Alolan Dugtrio and Feebas, showcasing serene ocean scenes. New Tera Pokémon ex, including Pallossand ex and Flygon ex, add exciting new options for players' decks.

The expansion is also available digitally via the Pokémon TCG Live app, offering in-game bonuses for collecting and battling with the new Stellar Tera Pokémon ex.
