New Pokémon to Befriend in Pokémon Sleep: Sneasel and Weavile!

Pokémon Sleep players are in for a treat! As of December 3rd, 2024, Sneasel and its evolution, Weavile, are now available to befriend. This guide explains how to add these icy, dark-type Pokémon to your team.

Where to Find Sneasel and Weavile

Given their dual Ice/Dark typing in the main series games, you might expect to find them in a snowy location. In Pokémon Sleep, however, Sneasel and Weavile appear as Dark-type Pokémon on two islands:

Snowdrop Tundra: Their primary habitat, reflecting their icy nature.
Greengrass Isle: Surprisingly, they also appear on this starter island, making them accessible to all players.

If you're currently researching on a different island, use an EZ Travel Ticket to switch to either Snowdrop Tundra or Greengrass Isle to increase your chances of encountering them.

Sleep Types and Evolution

Both Sneasel and Weavile share the "Dozing" sleep type. To maximize your chances of encountering them, ensure your sleep type for the night matches.

Sneasel is the easier of the two to find initially. Evolving it into Weavile requires 80 Sneasel Candy and a Razor Claw. However, you'll still need to encounter Weavile in the wild for Sleep Research data.

Are Sneasel and Weavile Valuable in Pokémon Sleep?

Sneasel's primary value lies in its berry-gathering ability. As a Dark-type, it collects Wiki Berries, particularly useful on Snowdrop Tundra. It also provides an "Extra Tasty" boost to your dishes. Its ingredient requirements include some rarer items, making a well-equipped Sneasel a valuable addition to your team.
