The legendary Black Kyurem and White Kyurem are making their much-anticipated debut during the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global. These powerful Pokémon come with exciting new Adventure Effects that can significantly enhance your gameplay outside of battles. Additionally, don't miss out on the Tour Pass, which can boost your earnings throughout the event.
Black Kyurem's Freeze Shock creates an electrically charged ice field for 10 minutes, immobilizing wild Pokémon and making them easier to catch. On the other hand, White Kyurem's Ice Burn slows down the target ring during encounters, assisting you in achieving those coveted Excellent Throws. You can extend these effects by 10-minute increments, up to two hours at a time, with a total maximum of 24 hours.
During the event, you'll have the opportunity to challenge Black Kyurem and White Kyurem in five-star raids to gather Fusion Energy. Once you fuse Zekrom or Reshiram with a Kyurem that knows Glaciate, Freeze Shock or Ice Burn will replace Glaciate. These moves will revert back to Glaciate when the Pokémon are separated. It's important to note that Kyurem cannot currently learn these moves through Charged TM or Elite Charged TM.
You'll also get to choose between two event badges: the Black Version (Reshiram) or the White Version (Zekrom). Opting for the Black Version means Kyurem encountered after defeating Black Kyurem will know Glaciate, and you'll receive Reshiram-themed Special Research rewards. Conversely, the White Version provides Zekrom-themed Special Research rewards, with Kyurem encountered post-battle against White Kyurem also knowing Glaciate.
To enhance your progression, make use of the Tour Pass, which unlocks additional rewards and boosts your Adventure Effects. Earn Tour Points by catching Pokémon, participating in raids, and hatching Eggs, or accelerate your progress with quick Pass Tasks. Each Major Milestone will increase your Catch XP and extend the duration of Freeze Shock or Ice Burn.
For those looking for maximum benefits, consider upgrading to the Tour Pass Deluxe. This premium version offers an immediate encounter with Victini, more event-themed encounters, an avatar item, and the new Lucky Trinket.
