Pokémon TCG Pocket's trading feature launch has been underwhelming, despite high player demand. To compensate, developers are giving away 1000 Trade Tokens via the in-game Gifts menu while they rework the trading system. This follows earlier announcements of planned improvements to make trading easier and currency acquisition less restrictive.
Many players criticized the original trading system's limitations, such as rarity restrictions and the required currency. These restrictions, while intended to prevent exploitation, arguably proved more inconvenient than effective.
Reworking the Trading System
A simpler approach – either completely open trading or no trading at all – might have avoided the current controversy. While botting and exploitation are valid concerns, the existing restrictions likely haven't deterred determined players. The upcoming rework hopefully addresses these issues and makes the digital TCG a viable alternative to its physical counterpart.
