Pokémon GO Battle Week Adds Urshifu, Gigantamax Machamp

The Might and Mastery season in Pokémon GO is drawing to a close. Its final week, called Final Strike: GO Battle Week, begins on May 21st, 2025. Lasting until May 27th, this event completes your Kubfu’s journey.

What to Expect During Final Strike: GO Battle Week

After weeks of dedicated training, you can finally evolve your determined bear into the legendary Urshifu. You'll even have a choice between two distinct forms! Depending on your battle strategy, you can unlock either the Single Strike or Rapid Strike style.

To obtain the Single Strike form, set Kubfu as your buddy and defeat 30 Dark-type Pokémon in raids or Max Battles. For the Rapid Strike style during Final Strike: GO Battle Week, follow the same steps, but take down 30 Water-type Pokémon instead.

A Special Research quest will also continue the ongoing Seasonal story, available until June 3rd, 2025. This quest rewards you with Kubfu Candy, Mysterious Components, and encounters with event-themed Pokémon such as a Charcadet with a Special Background.

May 25th Features a Special Event

Mark your calendars for the Gigantamax Machamp Max Battle Day on May 25th. Gigantamax Machamp will make its debut in six-star Max Battles from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. The event comes with several exciting bonuses.

You'll only need to travel a quarter of the usual distance to earn Max Particles. Your Max Particle storage capacity will increase to 1,600, and all Power Spots will feature Gigantamax Battles. During this period, you'll earn 8× the normal amount of Max Particles from these battles and gain two additional Special Trades.

Remember to collect Max Mushrooms as well. They temporarily double the damage output of your Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokémon. Using multiple mushrooms extends the boost duration, though the power increase remains the same.
