Get ready for the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova! Black and White Kyurem are making their debut alongside a Shiny Meloetta. This guide details how to obtain and fuse these legendary Pokémon.
Legendary Pokémon Debut
The Pokémon GO Tour: Unova, initially announced in December 2024, launches in February 2025. This update confirms the arrival of Black Kyurem, White Kyurem, and Shiny Meloetta. From February 21st-23rd, 2025, in-person event attendees in New Taipei City, Taiwan, and Los Angeles, USA, can catch and fuse Kyurem.
To obtain base Kyurem, defeat Black or White Kyurem in five-star raids. Fusion requires:
- Black Kyurem: 1000 Volt Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, 30 Zekrom Candy
- White Kyurem: 1000 Blaze Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, 30 Reshiram Candy
Fusion unlocks new attacks: Freeze Shock (Black) and Ice Burn (White). Reverting Kyurem to its base form is free. Shiny Kyurem, Reshiram, and Zekrom have increased encounter rates during the event.
A global event, Pokémon GO Tour: Unova – Global, runs March 1st-2nd, 2025, and is free for all players.
Shiny Meloetta Arrives!
Shiny Meloetta debuts in Pokémon GO! In-person event ticket holders can complete a Masterwork Research to encounter this Pokémon. The research doesn't expire, allowing completion at your own pace.
Iconic Unova Legendaries
Kyurem, Reshiram, Zekrom, and Meloetta originated in Pokémon Black and White, the fifth generation featuring the Unova region. Kyurem's alternate forms, introduced in Pokémon Black and White 2, also learn Ice Burn and Freeze Shock. This event brings the full Unova experience to Pokémon GO!
