Event Details

When is the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event?

The Bug Out event in *Pokemon GO* kicks off on **March 26 at 10 AM local time and runs until 8 PM local time on March 30**. That's a solid five days to hunt down those bug-type Pokemon that would have Misty scrambling for cover. Plus, it's a prime time for Shiny hunting, as almost every featured Pokemon boasts a Shiny variant in *Pokemon GO*.

New Pokemon During the Bug Out Event

Throughout the Bug Out event, trainers can enjoy the following bonuses in *Pokemon GO*:

  • Double XP for catching Pokemon with Nice Throws or better.
  • More Candy for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws.
  • More Candy XL for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws (for Trainers over Level 31).
  • Sizzlipede can be attracted with Lure Modules.
  • Higher chance of encountering Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede.
  • Additional Pokemon will appear near a lured PokeStop if enough Pokemon are caught using a single Lure Module.

Pokemon GO Bug Out Field Research, Timed Research, & Paid Time Research

Spinning PokeStops during the event will yield event-themed Field Research tasks. Completing these tasks can reward you with Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and encounters with some of the event's Pokemon.

Additionally, there are Timed Research rewards, including a Lure Module and encounters with the event's Pokemon. For those willing to invest, the Paid Timed Research offers a Lure Module, two Premium Battle Passes, and encounters with the event's Pokemon. Remember, both types of research must be completed, and rewards claimed before the event concludes.
