The Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket's latest expansion, Space Time Smackdown, released on January 30th, has sparked outrage among players due to a particularly graphic card depicting a violent scene.

The controversial card features Weavile ex, specifically the 2-Star full art version. The artwork shows a group of Weavile poised to attack an unsuspecting Swinub. This has led to a wave of online comments expressing concern and disappointment. Reddit posts highlighting the image have garnered thousands of upvotes, with users expressing their distress at the depiction of Pokémon predation.

One Reddit post simply exclaims, "NO ! SWINUB LOOK UP !! LOOK UP !!", perfectly encapsulating the collective shock. Many commenters emphasize the brutal nature of the scene, highlighting the incongruity with the typically gentler portrayal of Pokémon interactions.

However, some fans offer a glimmer of hope, pointing to the Mamoswine full art card (Swinub's evolution) as a possible positive resolution. This card depicts Mamoswine protectively looking up, seemingly aware of the Weavile's presence, suggesting a successful defense of the Swinub.

Space Time Smackdown, a Diamond and Pearl themed set, includes 207 cards, featuring popular Pokémon like Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. While smaller than the previous Genetic Apex expansion, it boasts a higher percentage of rare alternate art cards (52 out of 207, compared to 60 out of 286 in Genetic Apex).

Despite the controversy, Creatures Inc. has remained silent on the matter, focusing its communication solely on the new expansion. The company has not responded to fan concerns or a request for comment from IGN, though a "Trade Feature Celebration Gift" was issued, including 500 Trade Tokens and 120 Trade Hourglasses. This lack of response has further fueled player frustration.
