Pokémon GO Celebrates 8 Years with Raids and Bonuses

Pokémon GO's 8th Anniversary Extravaganza!

Get ready for a week-long celebration starting Friday, June 28th at 10:00 a.m. and lasting until Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024, at 8:00 p.m.! This anniversary event is packed with exciting new Pokémon debuts, boosted bonuses, and increased chances for incredible raid and trade rewards.

Here's a sneak peek at the festivities:

New Pokémon and Shiny Encounters:

Party-hat-wearing Grimer and Muk will be appearing! Keep an eye out for a Shiny Grimer—a rare and exciting find. Meltan is also making a shiny comeback; use your Mystery Box during the event for a chance to catch one.

Friendship and Trading Boosts:

Become Lucky Friends more easily and score Lucky Pokémon in trades! Friendship levels will increase rapidly through Gift opening, trading, and battling. You might even discover 8 or 88 Gimmighoul Coins when spinning PokéStops with a Golden Lure Module.

Rotating Catch Bonuses:

Enjoy these special bonuses throughout the week:

• June 28th-29th: Half Egg Hatch Distance.
• June 30th-July 1st: Double XP for catching Pokémon.
• July 2nd-3rd: Double Stardust for catches.

Raids and Research:

One-star raids will feature the costumed Pokémon with increased Shiny rates. Complete event-themed Field Research tasks to encounter partner Pokémon like Bulbasaur, Cyndaquil, and Mudkip, and earn Mega Energy for Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Sceptile, Blaziken, and Swampert.

Paid Events and In-App Purchases:
