Point-And-Click Mystery Game The Darkside Detective Is Now Out, Along With Its Sequel A Fumble in the Dark

Akupara Games has been prolific lately, releasing titles like the deck-builder Zoeti and now the puzzle game The Darkside Detective, along with its sequel, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark (both available simultaneously!).

Delving into the Darkside Detective Universe

The game opens on a bleak, fog-shrouded night in Twin Lakes, a city where the strange, supernatural, and absurd are everyday occurrences. Players control Detective Francis McQueen and his partner, the endearingly clumsy Officer Patrick Dooley.

Together, they form the Darkside Division, a perpetually underfunded branch of the Twin Lakes Police Department. You'll solve nine engaging cases, exploring the hilarious and bizarre world of The Darkside Detective and its equally witty sequel.

These point-and-click adventures present a diverse range of challenges, from time-travel puzzles and monstrous tentacles to uncovering carnival secrets and battling mafia zombies. Watch the trailer below for a glimpse into the gameplay!

The game is a vibrant homage to pop culture, referencing classic horror films, sci-fi series, and buddy cop movies. Case titles alone are intriguing: Malice in Wonderland, Tome Alone, Disorient Express, Police Farce, Don of the Dead, Buy Hard, and Baits Motel.

The game's humor is a standout feature, permeating every pixel. The Darkside Detective is available on the Google Play Store for $6.99. A Fumble in the Dark can be played independently of the prequel, also available on Google Play.
