- Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage returns players to the high seas
- Discover new characters and classes, defeat formidable foes, and construct your deck
- Improved turn-based combat and a fresh card evolution tree launch in Q3
Among the most anticipated titles I highlighted last year, one stands out as particularly promising: the upcoming Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage. The original game was a stylish roguelike deckbuilder that made its mark when the genre was still relatively new. Now, its highly awaited sequel is scheduled for release this third quarter!
This nautical follow-up [sic] brings you back to New Elysia for another swashbuckling adventure across the ocean waves. Choose your character, select a class ability, and pick your starting deck before setting sail!
In Pirates Outlaws 2, players can choose from various characters, each offering seven distinct class options. You can customize your deck and even recruit animal companions to add further strategic depth to your battles. With enhanced turn-based combat, a new card evolution tree, and an arsenal of weapons at your disposal, you’ll have everything needed to conquer the seas!
Run out the gunsPirates Outlaws 2 promises a significantly expanded experience, allowing players to traverse the map freely while offering even more permutations and combinations of cards and characters. PC gamers will have an early opportunity to test their skills via an upcoming Steam demo before the full release hits mobile later this year.
My only slight concern involves the animations shown in the reveal trailer, which appear somewhat static at first glance. While fully animating these illustrations can be labor-intensive, I hope the final version on mobile will feature more dynamic effects and visual flair when it launches.
Regardless, if you want to stay ahead of the curve, why not also subscribe to Ahead of the Game? Start by checking out our regular weekly feature with the same name!
