Witch Ascendancy Classes in PoE2

Infernalist

The Infernalist is currently one of the most powerful Witch Ascendancies, boasting an extensive collection of fire-based spells. Fans of summoning will appreciate the new Infernal Hound skill, which brings forth a creature from the underworld to assist in battle.

For those who dream of becoming a hellish beast, the Infernalist can transform into a demonic form, enhancing attack damage and mobility, though at the cost of quicker health loss. The Loyal Hellhound skill is crucial for surviving longer in this form, while Beidat's Will ties your Spirit to your maximum HP, encouraging investment in both Strength and HP to command an army of the undead.

Blood Mage

Although not as popular or balanced as the Infernalist, the Blood Mage offers a thrilling and risky gameplay experience. With Sanguimancy, players must navigate the delicate balance between life and death, using HP instead of MP. This unique mechanic demands careful management, as recklessness can lead to swift demise.

To mitigate this risk, skills like Vitality Siphon and Life Remnants drain health from foes, while Sunder the Flesh increases the critical hit chance needed for buffs, and Gore Spike amplifies attack damage.

Sorcerer Ascendancy Classes in PoE2

Stormweaver

Stormweaver Sorcerers excel in dealing massive elemental damage with high critical hit chances, often triggering Elemental Storm via Tempest Caller. Key to their strategy is inflicting status ailments, facilitated by the Strike Twice passive skill. Utilizing Spirit Gems, Stormweavers can amplify elemental attack damage against groups of afflicted enemies.

Enhancements like Constant Gale and Force of Will boost spell casting speed and MP regeneration, vital for a spell-centric playstyle. The Heart of the Storm node significantly improves survivability by converting part of Elemental Damage into an Energy Shield, ensuring you can withstand multiple attacks.

Chronomancer

A fresh addition to the Path of Exile universe, the Chronomancer manipulates time to control the flow of battle, offering a novel approach to combat. Exclusive spells such as Temporal Rift and Time Freeze open up new avenues for strategic combos and experimentation.

While currently not the strongest Sorcerer Ascendancy, the Chronomancer holds great potential. Skills like Now and Again, Apex of the Moment, and Quicksand Hourglass allow for innovative time manipulation, reducing cooldowns, slowing enemies, and accelerating spell creation.

Warrior Ascendancy Classes in PoE2

Warbringer

Warbringers combine war cries with totem summons, focusing on maximizing melee damage in close combat. This approach is effective against bosses, as totems can distract and absorb damage. Enhance armor penetration with Imploding Impacts and Anvil’s Weight to bolster this build’s effectiveness. Warcaller’s Bellow makes enemy corpses explode upon using a Warcry, and Greatwolf’s Howl removes Warcry cooldowns.

For a defensive approach, Renly’s Training and Turtle Charm enhance shield and blocking capabilities.

Titan

Prefer a more controlled and less risky playstyle? The Titan path is ideal. With powerful, slow attacks that paralyze foes, Titans force enemies to break through thick armor before inflicting damage. Stone Skin increases defensive power by 50%, and Mysterious Lineage boosts max HP by 15%, enhancing survivability.

Titans aren't just defensive fortresses; they can also deal significant damage. Earthbreaker and Ancestral Empowerment enhance Slam abilities, while Surprising Strength increases damage against stunned enemies by 40%.

Monk Ascendancy Classes in PoE2

Invoker

Invokers empower Monks to harness elemental power, granting access to powerful abilities and status-enhancing effects. This melee-focused class leverages elemental damage and status effects to decimate foes and trigger potent effects. The use of Power Charges to enhance skills adds strategic depth to the Invoker's gameplay.

Acolyte of Chayula

Embracing Darkness, the Acolyte of Chayula gains dominion over dark forces bestowed by Chayula. With the Embrace the Darkness skill, players forgo the Spirit resource, increasing maximum Darkness to 100 and gaining exceptional survivability.

For further defense, Consuming Questions can be combined with Mana Leech, though caution is advised, as this setup removes the Energy Shield’s cooldown, relying solely on MP drain. As of version 0.1.1, this approach is not yet efficient enough, making the Acolyte of Chayula less competitive compared to the Invoker.

Mercenary Ascendancy Classes in PoE2

Witchhunter

The Witchhunter stands out as one of the strongest classes in the current game version, specializing in hunting and eliminating demons and the undead. With increased damage on both initial and final hits, Witchhunters swiftly clear weaker enemies. Against bosses, passive skills like Pitiless Killer, Damage vs Low Life Enemies, and Judge, Jury, and Executioner are crucial for clinching victories.

Witchbane and No Mercy enable a playstyle focused on reducing enemy concentration and dealing increased damage. The Zealous Inquisition node reflects the Witchhunter’s hatred for demons and the undead, causing slain enemies to have a 10% chance to explode, damaging nearby foes.

Gemling Legionnaire

The Gemling Legionnaire revolves around gem-based gameplay, focusing not just on their stats and quality, but also their color. Thaumaturgical Infusion boosts resistances based on the number of equipped stones of a particular color, while Crystalline Potential and Implanted Gems enhance skill levels.

Advanced Thaumaturgy reduces skill costs and attribute requirements, similar to Adaptive Capability. Integrated Efficiency expands the arsenal with three additional active skill slots, and Gem Studded allows the use of two identical Support stones, enabling extensive experimentation and powerful builds.

Ranger Ascendancy Classes in PoE2

Deadeye

Deadeyes cater to players who prefer ranged combat, offering passive skills that boost effective attack range and damage output. Endless Munitions allows firing an additional projectile per skill use, ideal for clearing screens of enemies.

This path suits those who favor the classic bow over the modern crossbow and focus on elemental damage. Increased movement speed, extra projectiles, and an additional Mark enhance your ranged prowess.

Pathfinder

If you're drawn to green and love poisoning mechanics, the Pathfinder is your perfect match. This class excels at draining enemy health with double effectiveness. Overwhelming Toxicity doubles Poison application but shortens the debuff duration.

Beware! The signature gas grenade, combined with high movement speed and slow resistance, allows you to cover the battlefield in toxic mist swiftly. If you enjoy unique poison-based gameplay, this path is for you!

Keep in mind that we’ve only covered twelve of the planned thirty-six Ascendancy Classes. As PoE2 progresses through early access, these are the currently available specialization paths for your characters. More will be added over time! Additionally, future game updates may introduce changes to passive skills, meaning the details in this guide may differ from the final version.
