Palworld Dating Sim Confirmed: Not an April Fools' Joke, Says Dev

By ThomasMay 14,2025

Developer Pocketpair has exciting news for fans of their hit game, Palworld! They've announced a new addition to their universe: Palworld! More Than Just Pals, a dating sim that promises to blend romance with the beloved monster-catching gameplay. Announced on March 31, this isn't an April Fools' Day prank, despite the timing sparking skepticism among fans.

Pocketpair is keen to dispel any doubts: Palworld! More Than Just Pals is a legitimate project. Initially teased as a jest during their 2024 April Fools' Day stunt, it's now set to become a real game, slated for release on PC via Steam, though the exact date remains under wraps.

This intriguing addition to the Palworld universe invites players to step into the shoes of a transfer student at Palagos Private Academy. Here, players will navigate school life, forging friendships and possibly romantic relationships with a diverse cast of student Pals. Characters like the "cute" and "mysterious" Katress and the "timid" Chillet, drawn from Palworld's creature roster, are highlighted on the game's official Steam page.

The game's description hints at a unique experience where players can choose to maintain friendships, pursue romance, or take a darker turn by dismembering and consuming their Pals. This blend of light-hearted school life and unexpected dark elements promises a compelling narrative.

Bucky from Pocketpair took to social media to affirm the game's reality, stating, "This doesn't concern April Fools :)" on March 31, 2025.

As Palworld marks its one-year anniversary, with ongoing updates enhancing the game with features like crossplay support, Blueprint upgrades, and photo mode, fans have plenty to keep them engaged while awaiting the dating sim's arrival. There's also a glimmer of hope for a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Palworld, and perhaps, someday, Palworld! More Than Just Pals might make its way to the console as well.
