Orna: The GPS RPG is gearing up for its next major event, Natureblight. This new in-game chapter launches on May 30, 2025, and continues until June 14. As the latest installment in the Terra's Legacy series, it invites players to engage in an environmentally themed conflict.
Natureblight in Orna: The GPS RPG Introduces a New Menace Known as the Great Murk
Northern Forge Studios is placing a renewed emphasis on planetary themes, consistent with their prior updates. Natureblight weaves real-world conservation topics directly into the gameplay of Orna: The GPS RPG.
This also marks the studio's second participation in the Green Game Jam, backed by the Playing for the Planet Alliance. Veteran players will recognize the game's signature blend of fantasy and real-world GPS data. The new event will guide you to virtual representations of areas currently confronting severe ecological challenges.
Throughout the event, you will be transported across Orna's world to versions of seven real-world locations. Each destination features a unique animal guardian, representing the specific local ecosystem it inhabits.
Your journey will take you to Prince Edward County in Canada to encounter the Beaver, and then to the Coral Reefs of Oceania. You will also trek the misty paths of Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable Forest with the Mountain Gorilla and confront frozen relics like the Bone Mammoth in Dunkerque, France.
Other guardians include the Giant Tortoise in Ecuador's Galapagos Islands, the Giant Panda in Chengdu, China, and the Macaroni Penguin defending its territory on the Antarctic Peninsula. You can befriend these Animal Guardians and retain them as permanent companions after the event concludes.
What is the Great Murk?
As you explore each region, you will uncover the story of how the alien Terran people devastated their own natural environment through deforestation, pollution, and species extinction. Now, a similar corruption, known as the Great Murk, is re-emerging, and you must rise to stop it.
To complement the theme, a Natureblight pack is available for Orna: The GPS RPG via PlanetPlay. This pack offers origin town cosmetics, character sprite variations, and consumable boosters. You can find the game on the Google Play Store.
