The latest Office spinoff, The Paper, is making waves on television — no need to stop the presses. In fact, the series has already been greenlit for a second season.
The renewal was announced just one day before the series premieres on Peacock on September 4. This early vote of confidence stems from strong positive buzz, prompting NBCUniversal and the streaming platform to commit to a second season even before premiere viewership data is available.
Domhnall Gleeson, who fills a role reminiscent of Michael Scott, and Sabrina Impacciatore, known for her standout performance in The White Lotus Season 2, announced the renewal during an appearance on the Today show to promote the series.
The timing of the renewal works perfectly for co-creator Greg Daniels, who has already started writing for Season 2. He is collaborating with co-executive producer and showrunner Michael Koman, with plans to release the new season around the same time in 2026.
“We definitely have ideas,” Daniels recently told Variety. “We’ve been discussing storylines for a potential second season, and we're eager to see how the audience responds. While we’ve received great feedback from colleagues, journalists, and friends, the wider community of Office fans will ultimately shape our direction.”
Peacock will release all 10 episodes of Season 1 starting September 4. The season connects to the original Office series by featuring the same documentary crew that filmed at Dunder Mifflin Scranton, now following Gleeson’s team of journalists.
