"Oblivion Remastered Features Iconic Line Flub"

By ZoeMay 18,2025

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered breathes new life into one of Bethesda's landmark titles with enhanced visuals, updated gameplay mechanics, and more. Yet, amidst all the modernization, the development team at Virtuos chose to preserve one of the original game's most cherished quirks.

Long-time fans of the Elder Scrolls series are well-acquainted with Master Speechcraft trainer Tandilwe, a High Elf residing in the Temple of the One in the Imperial City. When Oblivion debuted on PC and Xbox 360 nearly two decades ago, it became evident that Tandilwe could benefit from her own speech training. One of her voice lines, famously believed to be a recording of actress Linda Kenyon attempting a line multiple times, became a beloved blooper.

As players embarked on their journey through the revamped world of Cyrodiil, many were eager to see how closely the remaster adhered to the original. While the game boasts revamped environments, character models, and items, fans were delighted to discover that many of the original game's endearing imperfections have been retained. Tandilwe's iconic blooper, complete with its absence of subtitles, remains a cherished relic from the 2006 release.

In a 2019 interview with YouTube channel Jake 'The Voice' Parr, Linda Kenyon was informed of her famous Oblivion blooper, humorously defending herself by saying, "It wasn't my fault!"

As thousands of players dive into Oblivion Remastered, discussions swirl around whether the Bethesda re-release leans more towards a remake than a remaster. Yet, many are simply pleased to see that the game's original charm and quirks have been largely preserved. This dedication to maintaining the essence of the original release by Bethesda and Virtuos has been warmly received by both new and returning players.
