Death Stranding fans, something truly exceptional is heading your way. The highly anticipated sequel, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, is scheduled for release next June. In a recent interview with IGN, the franchise's star, Norman Reedus, shared some exciting details about the game and a key update on the upcoming film adaptation.

"If it were an option, absolutely," Reedus confirmed when asked if he would portray his character in the film version. The project, announced last month, is being developed by Michael Sarnoski and A24. "I'm not sure about the current status, as everything is in the very early stages. But yes, without a doubt."

We also inquired if Reedus felt as puzzled by the sequel's narrative as he did with the first game. It appears his trust in creator Hideo Kojima remains unwavering, acknowledging the director's legendary reputation. "When it comes to collaborating with him and grasping his creative vision, I don't think anyone can fully comprehend his thought process," explained The Walking Dead veteran. "He's simply one of a kind – an innovative visionary with brilliant concepts. However, regarding the storyline, I had a clearer understanding this time. The sequel features more action and a more defined objective to achieve."

Regardless of the complexities within the Death Stranding universe, Reedus remains fully committed to the journey. "Working on these projects is always an incredible adventure," he told IGN. "It's an amazing experience, though undoubtedly unconventional."

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach launches on June 26, 2025.
