Nintendo Switch 2 Leak: Leak Shows Possible Design

At CES 2025, Genki unveiled a physical Switch 2 replica, offering insights into its potential design. This model suggests a larger console than its predecessor, with side-detaching Joy-Cons. The replica served as a demonstration piece for Genki's upcoming Switch 2 accessories – eight in total are planned.

New images circulating from CES 2025 purportedly depict a highly accurate physical replica of the Nintendo Switch 2. These images fuel speculation about the upcoming console's appearance, although Nintendo remains officially silent. The steady stream of rumors and leaks surrounding the Switch 2 has intensified recently, covering everything from Joy-Con features to potential games and accessories. Many of these leaks originate from accessory manufacturers, who often gain early access to specifications to prepare their products.

Genki, a prominent accessory maker, reportedly showcased this replica privately at CES 2025. According to Netzwelt, Genki claims the replica's dimensions precisely match the final Switch 2 hardware. The hands-on demonstration makes this replica arguably the most substantial preview of the upcoming console yet, potentially validating earlier design leaks.

Genki's Replica Hints at Switch 2 Design

Netzwelt's photos suggest a noticeably larger Switch 2, boasting a screen comparable in size to the Lenovo Legion Go. The Joy-Cons appear to detach via a sideways pull, lending credence to rumors of magnetic attachment. However, the report also mentions a possible mechanical locking mechanism to prevent accidental detachment. An unlabeled extra button is visible on the right Joy-Con.

Genki's primary goal in creating the replica wasn't public display, but rather to showcase their planned Switch 2 accessories to prospective clients. Their lineup includes eight accessories, encompassing cases, controller accessories, and a dock. Notably, Genki offered no information about Nintendo's official Switch 2 release plans.

The increasing concreteness of recent rumors and leaks suggests an official Nintendo announcement may be imminent. The anticipation is palpable among fans, developers, and publishers alike, given the current Switch's age.
