Switch 2 wows as Zelda speedrun crushes boss in 10 mins

By ChristianDec 18,2025

A The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild speedrunner successfully completed the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the acclaimed RPG during Japan's Nintendo Switch 2 Experience event, despite being limited to just 10 minutes of playtime.

As reported by VGC, Japanese streamer Ikaboze accessed an unknown save file with randomized equipment. Choosing to challenge himself, he attempted to "defeat the final boss completely naked with all equipment removed." Loading directly into the climactic Ganon battle, he achieved victory in just seven minutes – sparking cheers from amazed spectators.

The accomplishment proved even more remarkable considering Ikaboze used an unfamiliar controller and couldn't hear the game audio amid the crowded convention hall.

"The audience size surprised me," he recalled. "Even staff members were recording with their phones. Since I was the first to complete the demo, the team actually congratulated me afterwards."

The Nintendo Switch 2 Enhanced Edition of Breath of the Wild features visual upgrades and performance enhancements, new achievements, plus integration with the "Zelda Notes" service on Nintendo Switch Online. While existing Switch owners won't receive these updates automatically, a $10 upgrade path exists. Both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom upgrades are included free for Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack subscribers.
