Weapon damage in NieR: Automata varies with each swing. Upgrading reduces this variation and boosts potential damage.
The Iron Pipe boasts the game's widest damage range but also possesses exceptionally high potential damage. Its unpredictable nature makes it a gamble, but definitely worth acquiring. Here's how:
How To Obtain the Iron Pipe in NieR: Automata
The Iron Pipe is a rare fishing reward found in sewers. Both sewer locations offer the same drop rate; the first is more accessible.
Fast travel to the Resistance Camp. Head right towards the Amusement Park, jump the small gap, and descend the open manhole under the highway.
Fish in the sewer water. Other junk items can be sold. There's no guaranteed method; obtaining the Iron Pipe may take several attempts. Use your Pod's light to improve visibility underwater.
A second sewer is located en route to the Flooded City.
