Hotta Studio’s highly anticipated next major release, Neverness to Everness, has reached a significant development milestone with closed beta sign-ups now officially live. Dubbed the Containment Test, this upcoming PC-exclusive beta invites players to dive into an early version of the urban open-world action RPG, blending chaos, exploration, and Esper-driven powers.

Set against the backdrop of the sprawling city of Hethereau, Neverness to Everness promises a unique setting where supernatural anomalies coexist with high-speed chases and lifestyle freedom. Fans of the trailers will recognize the quirky, surreal vibe, featuring elements like graffiti-tagged skateboards with minds of their own, otters with television heads, and an ever-present sense of midnight unease.

Players will navigate this enigmatic city using Esper Abilities, tackling unexplained phenomena while balancing everyday life with surreal challenges. The Containment Test provides a first glimpse at many of the innovative systems that differentiate Neverness to Everness from its genre peers.

ytUnlike traditional open-world RPGs, urban driving serves as a key mechanic, enhanced by customizable cars and destructible crashes for added realism. Additionally, lifestyle features such as home ownership and interior design expand gameplay beyond combat, offering opportunities to immerse yourself in city life or channel your inner interior designer between missions.

Mobile users will need to be patient, as the Containment Test is currently PC-only. However, the full release is planned for PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android platforms. For now, English, Japanese, and Chinese voice-overs will be available, along with additional text language options.

As Neverness to Everness prepares to join the competitive urban RPG landscape alongside titles like Zenless Zone Zero and Ananta, its backing by Unreal Engine 5 and Hotta Studio’s proven success with Tower of Fantasy ensures it has the potential to carve out its own niche.
