Netflix is set to launch an exciting movie tie-in game for their upcoming sci-fi adventure, "The Electric State." Titled "The Electric State: Kid Cosmo," this puzzle game with a retro-futuristic twist is scheduled to release on March 18th, just four days after the film premieres on Netflix on March 14th. Directed by the Russo brothers and starring Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt, the film promises an epic post-apocalyptic road trip across an alternate '90s America, complete with massive robots.
It's Not Going to be a Simple Adaptation of the Movie
"The Electric State: Kid Cosmo" serves as a prequel to the movie's narrative, delving into the childhood of key characters Chris and Michelle through an engaging game-within-a-game experience. Developed by BUCK Games in collaboration with AGBO, the developers behind the acclaimed roguelite puzzle game "Let's! Revolution!" on Steam, this game promises a rich gameplay experience.
Set in Wichita, Kansas, in 1985, "Kid Cosmo" takes players on a journey through a series of puzzle adventures reminiscent of the WarioWare series, but with a distinct '80s vibe. The game spans five years, offering a deeper exploration of Chris and Michelle's backstory before the events of the movie. Players will engage in collecting modules, repairing Kid Cosmo's ship, and solving puzzles that gradually reveal the secrets of this strange world.
The Electric State: Kid Cosmo Follows Netflix's Trend of Spin-Offs
With "The Electric State: Kid Cosmo," Netflix continues to expand its gaming catalogue, particularly through interactive spin-offs. From "Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales" and "Too Hot to Handle Series" to "Money Heist: Ultimate Choice" and "Squid Game: Unleashed," the platform's gaming roster is constantly growing. If you're a Netflix subscriber, you can explore their full gaming lineup on the Google Play Store.
