The streaming giant has enlisted T.S. Nowlin, renowned for his work on the Maze Runner franchise and Netflix's Project Adam, to write the screenplay. Although Derek Kolstad, who initially adapted Sifu's story, may still be involved, his current role in the project remains uncertain.
Rounding out the impressive lineup, Chad Stahelski, director of the John Wick series, along with his production company 87Eleven Entertainment, will serve as executive producers. Interestingly, Stahelski is concurrently working on another highly anticipated video game adaptation, Ghost of Tsushima.
Launched in 2022, Sifu quickly gained popularity, surpassing one million sales within its first three weeks. The game follows a young martial artist avenging their master's murder. Equipped with a magical amulet that revives them post-death while aging them prematurely, the protagonist navigates a perilous world filled with danger and mystery.
