Moon Knight's Return Confirmed, No Season 2 Planned, Says Marvel Exec

By JasonMay 22,2025

Marvel fans eager to see more of Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight can rest assured that the character will make a return to the MCU, though not through a second season of the Disney+ series. In an interview with ComicBook, Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television, shared insights into the studio's evolving strategy for television content.

Since the release of Moon Knight in 2022, Marvel Television has shifted its focus from establishing characters through standalone shows to creating series that follow a more traditional TV model with annual releases. Winderbaum explained, "So I think Marvel Television has happened in waves, and I think Moon Knight happened in a wave of shows that were going to establish characters that would tie-in to the future. And moving forward our priorities have shifted. We’re making shows as shows that can exist as annual releases, more like television. I would love to see a Moon Knight Season 2, but there are plans for Moon Knight down the road."

While Moon Knight fans won't see a direct continuation of the series, they can look forward to Oscar Isaac reprising his role in future MCU projects. Isaac has already lent his voice to the character in the third and final season of the Disney+ animated series Marvel's What If…?, though no updates have been shared regarding his return in live-action.

Looking ahead, Marvel Television has a packed slate of upcoming shows for 2024. Fans can anticipate the release of Daredevil: Born Again in March, Ironheart in June, Eyes of Wakanda in August, Marvel Zombies in October, and Wonder Man in December. However, recent reports indicate that production has been paused on three other shows: Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc.

In an exciting development, Winderbaum hinted at potential plans to reunite the street-level heroes from Netflix's Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist, collectively known as The Defenders, offering fans a chance to see these beloved characters back in action.
