New Monster Outbreak Feature Launched in Monster Hunter Now

By SkylarMay 20,2025

If you're a *Monster Hunter Now* enthusiast who has found the game a bit too straightforward so far, you'll be thrilled to hear that Niantic is introducing a new challenge with the Monster Outbreak feature. Set to be tested from April 26th to 27th, this feature is designed to test even the most seasoned hunters.

Currently in its testing phase, the Monster Outbreak feature allows players to experience and provide feedback on this new addition. During an outbreak, a massive number of a single monster type will appear in a specific area. To participate, you must be within range and team up with other hunters—solo play won't cut it here.

The goal is straightforward yet demanding: slay as many monsters as possible to reach a target of 100. By signing up through the roster, you can register your interest and earn an exclusive hunter medal. Successfully completing the Outbreak will reward you with a variety of monster parts.

Culling monstersThe inaugural monster for these outbreaks is the formidable eight-star Black Diablos. Throughout the event, you'll only encounter this challenging creature, making the Monster Outbreaks a significant deviation from the usual gameplay and an extended test of your skills.

Niantic is keen to hear your thoughts on this new feature, so make sure to share your feedback via the community forum or social media. Your input could help shape the future of Monster Hunter Now.
