How to Start Master Schindel’s Toys Quest

To initiate the Master Schindel’s Toys quest, you must first embark on the Into the Underworld main mission. Your objective during this mission is to track down an informant named Goatskin. As you investigate, you'll find yourself at the bathhouse, where you should speak with the Bathhouse Madam first, followed by a conversation with Adam. Adam will reveal that Goatskin is the culprit behind the theft of Master Schindel's items.

Locating Goatskin

Finding Goatskin can be tricky due to his timid nature. Your best bet is to engage with Udo, a regular at the bathhouse who appears on the first floor in the evening. Instruct him to leave, then discreetly follow him. Goatskin will attempt to rob Udo in an alley, providing you with the perfect opportunity to confront him.

Obtaining the Kuttenberg Underground Map

Goatskin can provide valuable information about Liechtenstein, and more importantly, he holds the key to locating Master Schindel’s stolen items. If you fail the skill check to persuade him, you’ll need to offer a bribe. He will then direct you to the Kuttenberg gallows on the southeastern side of the city, where you can find the Map of Kuttenberg Underground on a hanging corpse.

Navigating the Kuttenberg Underground

With the map in hand, head to the northern entrance of the open area to find a ladder leading underground. Equip your torch as you descend into the dark Kuttenberg Underground. To reach Goatskin's hidden stash, consistently turn left at every junction until you encounter a barrel at a dead end. You may need to jump down to a lower level at some point. Inside the barrel, you will discover a book and an astrolabe.

Returning the Stolen Items

After securing the stolen items, retrace your steps to exit the underground. You can find Master Schindel on the northeastern side of the city during the day. Initially, he may seem irritable, but once you return his belongings, his demeanor will soften. He'll then take the time to explain the significance of the astrolabe and the workings of the planets.
