Mass Effect 5 Graphics Won't Be Like Veilguard or PixarAddressing concerns about the stylistic direction of the upcoming Mass Effect 5, project director Michael Gamble assures fans that the game will retain the series' established mature tone and photorealistic visuals. Worries stemmed from the perceived stylistic shift in BioWare's Dragon Age: Veilguard, which some fans felt leaned towards a more stylized, Disney or Pixar-esque aesthetic.

Maintaining Mass Effect's Mature Identity

Gamble clarified on Twitter (X) that while both Mass Effect 5 and Veilguard originate from the same studio, their artistic approaches differ significantly due to genre and IP distinctions. He explicitly stated that Mass Effect 5 will maintain the mature tone of the original trilogy, emphasizing the importance of a distinct visual identity for the sci-fi RPG. He further indicated that Mass Effect 5 will remain photorealistic, a key aspect of the series' identity, for as long as he oversees the project.
