Insomniac Games Remains Tight-Lipped on Marvel's Wolverine Release Date
Insomniac Games recently shared its future plans, but remained silent on updates for the highly anticipated Marvel's Wolverine. While the studio is working on "great projects with a really ambitious roadmap," according to Co-Head Chad Dezern in a Variety interview, details regarding Wolverine's release remain undisclosed. A 2025 release window was neither confirmed nor denied.
Wolverine's Development History:
Initially announced during the 2021 PlayStation Showcase with a cinematic trailer, Marvel's Wolverine is confirmed for PlayStation 5. In a 2023 interview with Kinda Funny, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Creative Director Bryan Intihar confirmed Wolverine's shared universe with Spider-Man, stating they are both set in the same universe ("1048"). While fans anticipated crossovers, the only confirmed connection is a Wolverine-themed suit in Spider-Man 2. A ransomware attack in December 2023 briefly exposed some Wolverine development assets.
Insomniac's Current Projects:
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is launching on PC January 30, 2025 (as announced at New York Comic-Con 2025). Insomniac confirmed no further DLC is planned for the game, but the PC version will include all post-launch updates, including new suits and New Game+. Standard and Digital Deluxe editions will be available.
