As we wave goodbye to August and the Young Avengers, *Marvel Snap* (Free) ushers in a thrilling new season. The theme? The Amazing Spider-Season! While Bonesaw might not be joining the fray, fans are in for a treat with a slew of new cards and locations that promise to shake up the game.
This season introduces an exciting new card ability: Activate. Unlike traditional On Reveal abilities, Activate allows you to choose the perfect moment to trigger your card’s effect, offering strategic depth and flexibility. The Season Pass card, Symbiote Spider-Man, exemplifies this new feature. As a 4-Cost 6-Power card, his Activate ability lets him absorb the lowest-cost card at his location, copying its text and potentially triggering its On Reveal effect again. Pair him with Galactus, and you're in for some serious fun! Given his potential, I wouldn't be surprised if Symbiote Spider-Man gets nerfed before the season's over, but for now, he's a blast to play.

Alongside Symbiote Spider-Man, we have Silver Sable, a 1-Cost 1-Power card with an On Reveal ability that steals two power from the top card of your opponent’s deck. She's a versatile addition, especially in certain combinations. Madame Web, inspired by the hit film, brings an Ongoing ability that lets you move one of your other cards at her location once per turn, adding mobility to your strategy.
Arana, another 1-Cost 1-Power card, introduces another Activate ability. When activated, she moves the next card you play to the right and boosts it by +2 Power, making her a staple for move decks. Scarlet Spider (Ben Reilly) rounds out the Spider-Friends with his 4-Cost 5-Power card. His Activate ability allows him to spawn an exact clone at another location, multiplying his power across the board.
New locations also make their debut this season. The Brooklyn Bridge, a staple of Spider-Man lore, challenges players by not allowing cards to be placed there two turns in a row, demanding creative strategies. Otto's Lab, inspired by the villain himself, pulls a card from your opponent's hand to the location when you play a card there, adding an element of surprise to your gameplay.
This season of *Marvel Snap* brings intriguing new cards and the innovative Activate ability, promising to create fascinating gameplay possibilities.
