Marvel Rivals Dev Promises a New Hero Every Month and a Half

By AuroraFeb 28,2025

NetEase Games confirms a steady stream of new heroes for Marvel Rivals, with a new character launching every six weeks. Creative director Guangyun Chen revealed this ambitious post-launch plan in an interview with Metro. Each three-month season will be split into two halves, each introducing a playable hero. This commitment to regular content updates aims to maintain player engagement and excitement within the community.

Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls already showcased this plan, launching with Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman, followed by The Thing and the Human Torch. While this initial roster boasts iconic Marvel characters, maintaining this level of consistent high-profile additions remains a significant challenge.

The game's launch roster already included popular heroes like Wolverine, Magneto, Spider-Man, and Storm, leaving a vast pool of potential characters. Speculation points towards Blade's arrival in Season 2, with fan hopes extending to Daredevil, Deadpool, and other X-Men. NetEase's continued success suggests they are prepared to meet this challenge.

Beyond new heroes, Season 1 also included substantial balance changes and gameplay adjustments, promising continued refinements in future updates.
