Switch 2 Super Mario Kart World Bundle

Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle

  • $499.99 at Best Buy

By choosing the Switch 2 bundle with Mario Kart World, you'll save $30 compared to purchasing the console and game separately. Keep in mind, the bundle comes with a digital copy of the game, so you won't receive a physical cartridge or game box. If a physical copy is essential to you and you're willing to spend an extra $30, consider preordering the standalone game.

Yes, the MSRP Is $79.99

When purchased separately, Mario Kart World costs $79.99, which is $10 more than the standard price for AAA titles on PlayStation and Xbox this generation. While the increase in game prices between console generations isn't ideal, it reflects the rising costs of game development. I'm optimistic that the expansive nature of Mario Kart World justifies the higher price point.

What Is Mario Kart World?

Play

Mario Kart World is poised to be the most ambitious Mario Kart game to date, featuring an expansive open world reminiscent of the Forza Horizon series. In Grand Prix mode, you can seamlessly transition from the end of one track to the start of another. The game's dynamic environment changes with weather conditions and the time of day, impacting visibility and traction. You're not confined to the tracks either; Nintendo promises you can drive "virtually everywhere" within the game world. With 24 drivers per race, it's the largest field yet in a Mario Kart title.

Knockout Tour introduces a thrilling new mode where you race across the open world, passing through checkpoints. Fall behind the required placement at any checkpoint, and you're out of the race. For a more relaxed experience, Free Roam mode lets you explore the world at your own pace, team up with friends, and snap photos along the way.

More details about Mario Kart World will be revealed during the Nintendo Direct on April 17. In the meantime, check out our hands-on preview for additional insights.
