Baldur's Gate III's eighth and potentially final major patch is undergoing its stress test. While some Sony console players received early access, players who haven't already are advised to reinstall the game for optimal testing.
Patch 8 introduces highly anticipated cross-platform play between PC and consoles. Players with linked Larian accounts can seamlessly join friends regardless of their platform. Remarkably, modded gameplay is also compatible with cross-play, provided all mods used by the PC player are available on Mac and consoles, and the host doesn't have more than nine mods installed.
Xbox Series S users will finally be able to enjoy split-screen co-op, a feature previously unavailable on this console.
Further enhancements in Patch 8 include a fully customizable photo mode and twelve new subclasses, adding significant depth and replayability. Numerous bug fixes and balance adjustments have also been implemented, although some issues may persist. A comprehensive changelog is available on the game's official website.
