Longvinter, the PC's Answer to Animal Crossing, Leaves Early Access on Steam

Longvinter, after a three-year journey through early access on Steam, has officially launched version 1.0! This release incorporates extensive player feedback and bug fixes, delivering a revitalized experience for both veterans and newcomers.

This major update introduces oil rigs scattered throughout the archipelago. Players can now extract oil, process it into fuel, and engage in intense battles against LRI mercenaries guarding vital supply lines. New dynamic events, such as helicopter crashes providing tactical gear and an hourly underground arena offering valuable rewards, add further excitement.

The game world is significantly enhanced with the addition of new wildlife – lynxes, wolves, wolverines, foxes, moose, and goats – all tamable and usable as mounts. A wealth of new items are available, including stat-boosting hats, advanced combat vests, diverse weaponry, explosives, new culinary recipes, and interactive building/decorating objects like oil refineries, refrigerators, microwaves, power poles, and turrets. Weapon balance has also undergone substantial adjustments.

Future plans include the 1.1 update, which will feature farming mechanics, an improved tutorial, apartment rentals, and player-shared community features. Furthermore, Longvinter's console debut on PlayStation is slated for 2026, broadening its player base beyond the PC platform.
