Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP Reaches Impressive Sales Milestone

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP Surpasses 200,000 Units Sold, Proving a Resurgence of Interest in the Classic Action Title

Released late last year, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP has exceeded expectations, recently surpassing 200,000 units sold. Despite initial technical hiccups and controversy surrounding censorship, the game's sales figures demonstrate strong player demand.

Developed by Dragami Games (the original was by Grasshopper Manufacture), this remaster of the cult classic action game features enhanced visuals and improved gameplay. The title retains its signature blend of over-the-top action and quirky humor, putting players in the chainsaw-wielding shoes of Juliet Starling as she battles hordes of zombies. The remaster's success spans current and last-gen consoles, as well as PC. This sales milestone was announced by Dragami Games via a recent tweet.

Celebrating Success: A Look Back and Forward

Lollipop Chainsaw's unique appeal stems from its blend of stylish action, reminiscent of Bayonetta, and its compelling story. The original 2012 release, developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and featuring contributions from James Gunn, sold over one million copies across PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

While future plans for Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, including potential DLC or a sequel, remain unannounced, the game's strong sales are encouraging for the remastering of niche titles. This success follows the recent release of another Grasshopper Manufacture title, Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered, showcasing a growing trend in bringing beloved, yet less mainstream, games to modern platforms.
