Leaked: Early Battlefield 6 Footage Appears Online

By NoraMay 13,2025

Exciting news for Battlefield fans: early gameplay footage of EA's upcoming Battlefield game has surfaced online, following a closed playtest. According to a report by TheGamer, a Twitch user named anto_merguezz streamed footage from EA's exclusive Battlefield Labs playtest. This test was designed to allow a select group of players to experience early versions of the game, aiding developers in fine-tuning the final product. Although the original stream has been removed from anto_merguezz's page, the leaked footage has been captured and shared widely on platforms like Reddit.

The leaked footage seems to validate the "modern" setting hinted at by Vince Zampella, setting this game apart from its predecessors with either historical or futuristic themes. Viewers get a glimpse of intense firefights and the game's hallmark destructible environments. Early reactions from fans are positive, a promising sign considering the lukewarm reception to Battlefield 2042 at its launch.

Just last month, we received our first official glimpse of what to expect from the next Battlefield installment. Notably, EA confirmed the return of a traditional, single-player, linear campaign, a feature that was notably absent in the multiplayer-focused Battlefield 2042. This news has been warmly received by the community, eager to dive back into the series' narrative-driven experiences.

EA has set its sights on launching the next Battlefield game within fiscal 2026, which spans from April 2025 to March 2026. As the launch date approaches, we can anticipate more official reveals from EA. Given the recent leaks, it seems increasingly likely that EA will soon need to unveil more details about what is tentatively being referred to as Battlefield 6.

IGN has reached out to EA for a statement on this matter.
