Larian Seeks Players to Test Baldur

Larian has announced via a Steam post that the Patch 8 stress test build for *Baldur's Gate 3* is set to launch in January. This exciting update will be accessible to players on PC via Steam, as well as on Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Unfortunately, players using Mac or GOG platforms will not have access to this stress test. If you're eager to participate, the interest registration form is currently open and ready for your sign-up.

Before the official release of Patch 8, Larian is committed to "rigorously" testing the build to ensure it's free from instability or gameplay issues. "With your help, we’ll be able to keep an eye on any funny business," the developer humorously stated. A key focus of this testing phase is the introduction of crossplay. Larian acknowledged the challenge, saying, "Bringing crossplay to a game the size of Baldur’s Gate 3 has been no easy task," and they're inviting players to help test this new feature. They encourage you to share the stress test registration link with your friends to embark on a crossplay campaign together, or to join the Larian Studios Discord Server to find a group to play with.

While Patch 8 marks the final major update for *Baldur's Gate 3*, Larian has assured fans that they will continue to support the game's modding community. They've promised "big updates still to come," with enhanced functionality that will allow players to craft their own unique stories. Since the official mod tools were released in September, the community has been incredibly active, with over 70 million module downloads and more than 3,000 mods uploaded. This vibrant modding scene is a testament to the game's enduring appeal and the creativity of its players.
