By ChristopherMay 18,2025

Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+. The announcement was made during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York, confirming months of speculation and excitement among fans eager to see the Netflix Defenders characters integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Ritter joined her co-star Charlie Cox on stage to share her enthusiasm about returning to the role. "It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," she stated. "I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

The 25 Best MCU Heroes

View 26 ImagesRitter first brought Jessica Jones to life in 2015 with the premiere of the character's first season on Netflix. The series continued with two more seasons and the team-up show The Defenders. However, as Netflix's era with original Marvel content drew to a close, the future of Ritter's character seemed uncertain.

The landscape changed in 2021 when Disney regained the rights to certain Marvel characters, including Jessica Jones. Following Charlie Cox's return in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his starring role in Daredevil: Born Again, speculation grew about the potential return of other Netflix heroes. With Jon Bernthal's Punisher playing a significant role in Season 1, it's fitting that Ritter is now confirmed for Season 2.

Ritter's last appearance as Jessica Jones was in Season 3, which aired in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation hint at a broader future for the character within the MCU, though for now, fans can look forward to seeing her in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. While Disney has not yet set a release date, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that new episodes will be available in March 2026.
