In an interview with Variety, Koepp, who penned the screenplay for the 1993 film and returned for Dominion, explained that he revisited Crichton's work to inspire the latest sequel, lacking a source novel for this installment. This rereading led to the inclusion of a specific sequence.
Koepp stated that a scene from the first novel, previously deemed unsuitable for the original film due to time constraints, finally found its place in Dominion. While he remains tight-lipped about the exact scene, fan speculation is rife, with several possibilities emerging as frontrunners.
