Japanese Switch 2 Priced Lower Than Global Version

By DanielApr 15,2025

The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 is set to have varying prices across different regions, with a notable distinction between the pricing in Japan and the rest of the world. This new gaming console will come in two versions: a Japanese-language system, available exclusively in Japan, and a Multi-Language System, designed for global markets.

Switch 2 Will Have 2 Language System Versions

In Japan, the Nintendo Switch 2's Japanese-language version will be priced at approximately $330. In contrast, the Multi-Language System version, intended for worldwide distribution, will be priced at $449.99, showing a significant price difference of over $100. This variance is largely due to the weakened yen against the USD, which impacts the pricing for tourists in Japan.

Japanese residents will still have the option to purchase the Multi-Language System version. However, the Japanese-language system will only be available in Japan, and it requires a Nintendo Account set to the Japanese region. This version will exclusively support the Japanese language and will only be compatible with software available on the Japanese Nintendo eShop.

Nintendo advises fans who wish to use the Switch 2 in languages other than Japanese to opt for the Multi-Language System version. Further details about this version will be disclosed on April 4.
