The lead developers of the highly anticipated life simulation game, inZOI, recently engaged with fans, tackling some intriguing questions about the game's content. One particularly hot topic was the depiction of sexual intercourse within the game. The assistant director provided a response that left much to the imagination, carefully avoiding the word "sex." The gist of the answer suggested that if a male ZOI and a female ZOI were to retreat to bed together, the implication would be that they are engaging in an act to create children. However, the visual representation of this act would be left up to the player's interpretation.
Perhaps that’s exactly what’s happening, but not at the level everyone expected.
This has led to uncertainty among players about whether the approach to sex in inZOI will mirror the censorship seen in The Sims series or if the developers are planning something entirely new.
Additionally, the developers shed light on why ZOIs shower in towels rather than using pixelated censorship. They explained that this method aligns better with games featuring a more cartoonish aesthetic, while pixelation in a game with realistic graphics could inadvertently appear overly sexualized. They also revealed a technical issue: when a naked ZOI with pixelated censorship approached a mirror, the blur effect failed to appear in the reflection.
For those curious about the game's content boundaries, the ratings provide some clarity. inZOI has been rated ESRB - T (for teens) and is expected to receive a PEGI 12 rating.
