Infinity Nikki and its multiplayer-focused 1.5 update have hit Steam, but they've arrived with a parade of drama. Infold Games’ stylish dress-up adventure made its way to Valve’s digital storefront yesterday after months of Epic Game Store exclusivity. What should have been a celebration for fans has been overshadowed by a wardrobe of technical issues, perplexing design changes, and demanding outfit requirements. The developers have issued an apology and promised compensation, but the battle for Infinity Nikki is far from over.

PC players were eager to dive into the Steam release of Infinity Nikki but were met with a range of technical issues, from crashes to general instability, making it impossible to launch the game for some. Infold's beloved dress-up game is not the first to face launch troubles, but as players flocked to the game, they found more to complain about than just performance.
The new five-star outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, each contain 11 pieces, requiring up to 220 pulls—and considerable spending—to complete. This is a significant increase from the usual outfit sizes, and it came without warning. Players fear that future outfit requirements might grow even more demanding.
Infold also extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks, causing confusion within the community. Amid technical issues and growing concerns over monetization practices, the Chinese player base took to social media platform RedNote, sparking a movement that has now spread globally. Players are calling for a boycott of Infinity Nikki on Steam, urging others to leave negative reviews and uninstall the game across all platforms.
"Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players," Reddit user kiaxxl said in a call-to-action post. "For gacha games, tracking how successful a new batch of content is usually measured on the first few days. Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players."
The community's response has had an impact, with Infinity Nikki currently holding a "Mixed" rating on Steam as players leave negative reviews to warn others to stay away until their demands are met and issues resolved.
The boycott gained enough traction that Infold issued an apology letter across its official channels, acknowledging that many technical issues have been addressed and promising better communication about future changes.
Apology Letter Regarding Version 1.5 Gaming Experience
Dear Stylists,
Hope this message finds you well.
First and foremost, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies. We are truly sorry that we were unable to provide you with a stable experience upon the release of the new… pic.twitter.com/YEjpGQpKho— Infinity Nikki (@InfinityNikkiEN) April 29, 2025
The apology included plans to revert Mira Crown to end on May 16 and start the next season the same day, along with compensation for players: 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds. While these steps are in the right direction, they fall short of the comprehensive changes many players hoped for.
While some see Infold’s concessions as a victory, others are still worried about the decision to maintain the 11-piece outfits. The studio has promised better communication, but it seems some five-star outfits will still require 11 pieces.
I wish you would finally chance the drop rate.. it cant be that i need 200 pulls to get a 5star and then you drop like 5 banners within weeks?! Make the rate lower or give us more diamonds to be able to get crystals.. this is not fun!

The community has celebrated the quick response to their concerns, but boycotters are urging others to keep up the pressure. "Think about it: CN players are pointing out that if we accept the 11-piece outfits and pity as it is, most new 5 stars will **be** 11 pieces," Reddit user EdensAsmr said. "Imagine if every new major update has two 11-piece 5-star banners? That means you have to save even more to be able to handle it, and 70-80 pulls per patch will **not** cut it."
