Iconic Bethesda Voice Actor of Skyrim, Fallout 3, and More Shares Heartfelt Message Amid Recovery

By EmeryMar 15,2025

Beloved Bethesda voice actor Wes Johnson, known for his work in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 3, Starfield, and countless other titles, has shared a moving message of gratitude following a frightening health scare. Last week, he was found "barely alive" in his Atlanta hotel room, where he was attending a benefit event for the National Alzheimer's Association.

A video posted on his GoFundMe page—which has already raised an astounding $174,653 to cover medical expenses and other bills—reveals that Johnson was in a coma. "I found out there's a lot of love in this world that I didn't know was out there, and I'm grateful to each and every one of you," he shared emotionally.

His wife, Kim Johnson, raised the alarm after he failed to appear at the event. Hotel security and EMTs responded, finding him with a barely detectable pulse. "Rumors of my demise," Johnson recounted, "well, they weren't exaggerated. It was very close, very close. But I'm still here."

He credits his wife's quick thinking and the swift actions of his son, who contacted security, with saving his life. He spent five days in a coma before learning about the outpouring of support from friends Bill Glasser and Shari Elliker, and Kim, who organized the GoFundMe campaign.

Johnson expressed heartfelt thanks to numerous individuals and organizations: the National Alzheimer's Association for supporting his family, Washington Capitals parent company chairman Ted Leonsis for a generous $25,000 donation, and Glasser and Elliker for their tireless efforts. He also extended his gratitude to Bethesda, who publicly voiced their support, saying, "You say that I'm your friend. I am. Always will be. Love you guys." Finally, he offered a message to his fans: "I love you all. I'm not going anywhere. It's going to be a while as I work my way back, but I'm coming back. I look forward to seeing and hearing you all then. Cheers."

Johnson's extensive voice acting career spans film, television, and video games, with a particularly strong presence in the Bethesda universe. His memorable roles include Ron Hope in Starfield, Sheogorath in Oblivion, multiple Daedric Princes in Morrowind, Fawkes and Maister Burke in Fallout 3, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in Skyrim, and Moe Cronin in Fallout 4, among many others.
