Yesterday, IGN unveiled exciting news about Hollow Knight: Silksong, announcing that the game will be playable at an Australian museum in September 2025. Alongside this announcement, they shared a sprite sheet from the highly anticipated sequel, igniting a firestorm of reactions across the internet.
On a Reddit thread dissecting the exclusive sheet, one commenter asked, "In what situation [is] making a sprite of naked Hornet necessary?" The sprite sheet featured dozens of images of Silksong's star, Hornet, in various battle-ready and relaxed poses. However, one particular sprite drew significant attention: Hornet casually carrying her cloak under one arm. This image, found on the right-hand side of the original sheet, immediately under the uppermost ring, sparked a flurry of comments.
One redditor opined, "What kind of situation in-game calls for her to remove her cloak and hold it like she's an exhausted dad returning from work? This is cursed." Another posited, "Is this real???? There's no way this is a sprite that is going to be in Silksong. Is that just what she looks like????" while yet another shouted, "IN WHAT KIND OF SITUATION WOULD THEY EVEN NEED THIS SPRITE?"
The discussion then took a more playful turn, with one respondent asserting, "So, we don't have to bother making a mod," and another saying, "We're going straight to ESRB 18+ for this one." A thread OP chastized, "HORNET PUT YOUR CLOAK BACK ON THAT'S SO INDECENT WHAT THE HELL," to which someone replied, "This looks so wrong," and "this is completely unnecessary." Another announced, "I do not like this."
Amidst the fervor, the most plausible explanation might be that players will have the option to upgrade or change Hornet's cloak. Until further details are revealed, fans are left to let their imaginations run wild.
