The highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 version of Hogwarts Legacy brings enhanced visual fidelity, faster load times, and introduces an innovative mouse control system. As showcased in a recent comparison trailer, transitions between areas such as Hogsmeade are now seamless, eliminating the previous loading screens.
This upgraded experience also boasts improved frame rates, textures, shadows, and vibrant color saturation throughout Hogwarts and its enchanting surroundings. While details on the mouse controls remain scarce, developers at Warner Bros. suggest they may enhance interactions, possibly during spellcasting.
Similar to other Switch 1 titles, owners of the original game will have the option to upgrade to the enhanced Switch 2 version for $10. Set in the 1800s wizarding world, Hogwarts Legacy invites players to begin their journey as a fifth-year student, exploring familiar and new locations, discovering magical creatures, crafting potions, mastering spells, enhancing abilities, and customizing their characters to fulfill their wizarding dreams. The game launches alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5.
In our IGN Hogwarts Legacy review, we awarded the game 9/10, praising it as "the Harry Potter RPG we've always wanted to play."
