Morefun Studios' highly anticipated 3D action brawler, formerly known as Hitori no Shita: The Outcast, is back! Now titled The Hidden Ones, this game promises a thrilling experience blending 3D brawling, parkour, and intense martial arts combat. Prepare for its 2025 release, with a pre-alpha test slated for January.
The game, set in modern-day China, follows the journey of young martial artist Zhang Chulan as he uncovers the extraordinary demand for his grandfather's unique martial arts techniques. He's about to find out that some people are not easily dissuaded.
A recently released gameplay trailer showcases impressive visuals and introduces secondary protagonist Wang Ye. The trailer highlights dynamic parkour sequences, evading projectiles as Chulan leaps between buildings, and showcases the signature 3D martial arts combat, energy projectile usage, and intense brawling the game is known for.
A Title Transformation
Tracking down information on The Hidden Ones has been challenging, given the multiple names associated with the series. Despite this, the game's gritty and darker aesthetic, while not photorealistic, offers a more grounded feel than many other 3D ARPGs.
The game's success will depend on its ability to attract players unfamiliar with the source material. However, the intense kung-fu action should appeal to a wide audience.
